  1. mine was on the pros/cons of needle-exchange programs (NEP's are programs that make clean needles availible for drug users to prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS) the republican side is that this is aiding and abetting drug users and is promoting drug use. the democratis side is that the US has 11 times the HIV/AIDS as in countrys that have these programs, and they have beed tested to show that they dramaticly slow the infection rate of the virus. Also it has been show that the programs do not promote drug use. i guess i'm w/ the democrates on this one because HIV/AIDS and we should do whatever we can to stop it. what do you think?

  3. I did my essay on food shortages in poor countries around the world and the different causes and effects of it. Like, "The shortage of freshwater, the loss of topsoil and the rising temperatures (and other effects) of global warming- are making it increasingly hard to expand the world’s grain supply fast enough to keep up with demand,” [Page 53 in the article]. I think it is morally appropriate to start meeting the goals of America as quickly as possible. Like the goals of renewable energy, restore forests and soils, ban deforestation, plant billions of trees around the world, recycle water, and conserve soil. What do you think about this?

  4. apologies, haven't checked this in a while. my article was on cloning, whether extinct species, like the woolly mammoths, ought to be cloned and brought back or not, since it's becoming possible with new scientific methods and everything.

  5. oh cool guys, yeah i havent gone on for awhile either..... yeah rachel, speaking of global warming and stuff, i read in one of my mom's magizines that they were thinking of putting gardens on top of skyscrapers because they would be cheap to take care of and would increase air quality, they look really weird. and alex, i guess it would be cool to see a wooly mamoth, but as long as people treat this thing as a science experiment and not a real animal. yeah, i love animal rights too, but this thing died out for a reason and we can't let it get out into the wildbecause it could carry things with it that would be bad for the animals now, we dont know much about this thing... yeah.

  6. haha yay that sounds interesting! I bet gardens on top of skyscrapers would help decrease global warming! :) I have seen gardens on top of buildings before in movies and they seem cool to me i would love to go out and tend one...haha :) thanks for commenting on mine...and i agree with you emma on the whole wooly mamoth thing because it would be kinda creepy having those huge animals waking our earth and they might kill some of our vital creatures soo it's a hard issue...:) - Rachel <3
